The Concept

Infinite Ambition.

Total Immersion. Crossing the desert from North to South, like ancient caravans. A challenge for the bold.

Unlike our standard tour, this expedition begins directly from Rum Village via the challenging Rakabat Canyon, offering technical immersion from Day 1. We traverse the Wadi Rum desert from North to South, exploring technical canyons, climbing the highest peaks (Um Ad Dami & Burdah), and discovering the wild Saudi frontier.

The Expedition

Seven days of demanding trekking, majestic summits, and sleeping under the vast desert sky.

The Start D1

Arrival, Rakabat Canyon & Camping

Reception & Start: Meeting at the Wadi Rum Rest House Parking. From there, we transfer directly by 4x4 to the trailhead at "Rakabat Canyon".

The Route: Entry into this area is not via traditional roads, but by walking through the narrow and high "Rakabat Canyon" pass. The path requires scrambling (using hands) to navigate rocks up and down. (Approx. 5-6 hours hiking).

Overnight: Bivouac in an exceptional spot on the other side of Jebel Um Ishrin, facing the "Nafishiya" dunes.

Secret Route D2

Hidden Valleys & The Path to Burdah

Morning: Walk through the soft red sand dunes of "Abu Khashaba" to reach the historic Lawrence’s House.

The Secret Route: After lunch, we move to "Abu Sisbana", a hidden gem of valleys away from crowded tourist spots. We take secret paths known only to local Bedouins.

Finale: The trail ends with a panoramic view facing the famous Burdah Rock Bridge, where we set up our bivouac.

Burdah Summit Challenge

The Climb: Ascending Jebel Burdah to reach the rock bridge. This involves technical sections, scrambling, and high exposure (350m elevation gain).

Eye of Burdah: After lunch, we hike to "Tur'at Al-Asalah" to see an amazing rock formation resembling an eye.

Overnight: We end the day camping in the enchanting "Sunset Area" near Um Fruth via private trails.

Wild South D4

Canyon Secrets & Southern Frontier

Exploration: Heading to "Um Mgour" and "Naghra Canyon", famous for geological wonders. We hike to a high panorama point.

The Frontier: We conclude by trekking towards Wadi Saabit, an isolated southern border area offering a majestic sense of the vast, open desert.

1854m Peak D5

Roof of Jordan – Um Ad Dami

The Challenge: Morning transfer to the base of Jebel Um Ad Dami. We climb the Highest Peak in Jordan (1854m). The path requires endurance on steep slopes.

Reward: Fresh hot tea prepared by the guide directly on the peak with views of the Red Sea. Return to camp in the calm wadis for a relaxing evening fire.

Marathon D6

Crossing the White Desert

The Return: Trekking back north. Experience a radical change in nature; moving from Red Sandstone to "White Sands" and Dark Granite.

Desert Marathon: A long, meditative walk (up to 6 hours) in open terrain. Final night bivouac near Um Fruth or Abu Khashaba.

Departure D7

Farewell to the Desert

Morning: A gentle, easy 2-hour walk to breathe in the final desert air.

Conclusion: Transfer back to the Wadi Rum Visitor Center, ending the journey with unforgettable memories.

Dining & Living

Hearty Meals

Breakfast: Fire-baked bread, cheeses, eggs, jam, and tea.
Lunch: A hot meal (Galayah) cooked in the desert with fresh salads.
Dinner: Generous Bedouin stews or traditional Zarb under the stars.

Wild Bivouac

We sleep in the open air ("Bivouac") far from tourist camps. We provide comfortable foam mattresses and heavy, warm blankets. The support vehicle carries all gear; you only carry your daypack while trekking.

How hard is this expedition?

This is a strenuous (5/5) trek requiring excellent physical fitness. It involves long hours of walking, steep elevation gains (Um Ad Dami), and technical scrambling over boulders (Rakabat, Burdah) with high exposure. It is not suitable for beginners.

What is the role of the 4x4 support?

The 4x4 vehicle acts as our mobile camp. It transports your heavy luggage, water, and food. You will only carry a small daypack while hiking. The vehicle meets us at designated lunch spots and sets up the evening bivouac.

What essential gear should I bring?

You must bring sturdy, broken-in hiking boots with good grip. A sleeping bag is highly recommended (especially in winter). Sun protection, a headlamp, and a 20-30L daypack are required.
