This two-day Wadi Rum experience blends a classic jeep tour with a bucket-list adventure to the summit of Jabal Umm Ad Dami—the highest mountain in Jordan at 1,854 meters.

Your Bedouin guide Salem will lead you through legendary desert sites and on a thrilling climb offering views across Jordan and Saudi Arabia—and on a clear day, even the Red Sea.

Spend the night in our Bedouin camp with a traditional dinner and stargazing. You can also choose to sleep under the stars or upgrade to a bivouac wild camping experience for more adventure.

Jeep Tour Day D1

Day 1 – Jeep Tour & Campfire Evening

Explore Wadi Rum’s most famous landmarks by 4x4, watch an incredible sunset, and enjoy a traditional Zarb dinner at camp.

Morning – Scenic Desert Sites

  • Meet at 9:00 AM at Wadi Rum Rest House
  • Explore with Salem by 4x4 jeep, visiting:
  • Nabatean Temple ruins & Lawrence’s Spring
  • Red Sand Dunes & Khazali Canyon (rock inscriptions)
  • Little Arch (photo stop) & Lawrence’s House
  • Stop for lunch in a shaded area with tea

Afternoon – Deep Desert Sights

  • After lunch, continue to:
  • Mushroom Rock & Viewpoint of Jabal Burdah
  • Abu Khashaba Canyon (optional walk)
  • Um Frouth Rock Bridge (optional climb)

Evening – Sunset & Camp

  • Watch the sun set over the red mountains at Umm Sabata
  • Sip fresh Bedouin tea by the fire
  • Arrive at camp, settle into your tent or sleep outdoors if you prefer
  • Enjoy a Zarb dinner, storytelling, and stargazing around the fire
Peak Hike Day D2

Day 2 – Hike to Jabal Umm Ad Dami Summit

A highly rewarding hike to Jordan's highest point, followed by a relaxing desert lunch and canyon exploration near the Saudi border.

Morning – High Altitude Hike

  • After breakfast, drive ~15 km to Jabal Umm Ad Dami
  • Begin the moderate-to-challenging hike to the summit. The climb involves scrambling, but no climbing gear needed
  • From the top, enjoy sweeping views of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and possibly the Red Sea
  • Pause for rest, tea, and photos, then descend (full hike takes 4–5 hours round trip)

Midday – Lunch & Rest

  • Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch and tea in the shade

Afternoon – Wadi Sabat & Return

  • Explore the Wadi Sabat area near the border
  • View ancient rock inscriptions, and hike short trails through peaceful gorges
  • Return by jeep to Wadi Rum village, arriving around 4:00 PM

How difficult is the hike?

It’s a steep, non-technical mountain hike with scrambling. Good fitness is required, but you don't need climbing experience.

What’s included in the price?

All meals (lunch, dinner, breakfast, lunch), drinks, guides, jeep transport, the guided summit hike, overnight stay, sunset tea, and canyon walks.

Can I sleep outside instead of in the tent?

Yes! We offer sleeping under the stars near the camp, or you can upgrade to an isolated bivouac camping experience.

Best time for this tour?

Spring and autumn provide the best weather and visibility for reaching the summit and seeing the Red Sea.

Is the tour suitable for families with kids?

The Umm Ad Dami hike is not recommended for children due to the difficulty of the hike. We recommend looking at our Jeep Tours or Jabal Hash hike instead.
